Tanzania is facing a pressing environmental challenge. Each year, the country loses approximately 360,000 hectares of forest, placing ecosystems, biodiversity, and community livelihoods at risk. As we commemorate (often marked locally on March 19), the message is clear: the time to act is now. Protecting forests is no longer optional it is essential for sustaining life, mitigating climate change, and securing the future for generations to come.
